1. We’re concerned that the pandemic could cause the Council to shelve the proposed resolution for months. Consider pointing out that the climate crisis is not taking time out for the pandemic; rather, many of its consequences already are upon us and others are imminent. The pandemic does illustrate the terrible price of ignoring an impending disaster and then doing too little too late.

The Parade Winds Down around 11 AM.
Free Parking is available in downtown Elgin. You can walk from there to the corner of Grove Avenue and Kimball Street and find a free shuttle bus that will take you to Lovell Avenue at Douglas Street. Then walk West to Brook Street and look for us.
Occupy Elgin says Keep Fossil Fuels in the Ground
Occupy Elgin meets on Saturdays at 1 PM at the corner of Kimball Street and Grove Avenue. We hold signs on many various issues. In the past, we did distribute flyers that call for our lawmakers in Congress to support HR 3671 which requires 100% of electricity to be generated from renewable sources by 2035. We also support the Earth Bill.
